LeBron James Is Still Doing This at 41 — And the Rockets Are Helpless to Stop It

 🏀 NBA · LAKERS

The man is 41 years old. He is cutting to the rim in the final minute of a playoff game and throwing down dunks that would make a 25-year-old think twice. The Los Angeles Lakers lead Houston 2–0 in the first round, and LeBron James is the reason why. His Game 2 finish — driving baseline with his trademark power, absorbing contact, and finishing through the rim — had the entire basketball world talking.

Houston's Problem Is Simple: There's No Answer

The Rockets are a young, athletic team. They pressure the ball, they switch everything, and they play with enormous energy. And LeBron has been eating them alive anyway. With Kevin Durant reportedly getting around-the-clock treatment to be available for what is now a must-win Game 3 situation for Houston, the pressure on the Rockets is immense.

LeBron's calm in the closing minutes of both games has been the difference. He is playing like a man who has been here a thousand times — because he has.

Lakers' Road to a Title Run

If Los Angeles closes out Houston, they'll have conserved energy for what will likely be a brutal matchup in the second round. The Western Conference is stacked — Oklahoma City still looks like the class of the West — but a healthy, motivated LeBron James changes every calculation. He's not done. Not even close.
